DTC    B2416    Height Control Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

w/o Intelligent Parking Assist System:
The DTC is stored when the headlight leveling ECU assembly detects malfunctions in the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH power source or rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FOR DTC
  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B2416 is not output.

3.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL Auto Leveling / Data List.

  1. Read the display on the intelligent tester.

    HL Auto Leveling

    Rear height control sensor power supply value / 0 to 6.25 V

4.INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.

  1. Remove the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH (Click here).

  1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 (SHB) and a negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 1 (SHG).

  1. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHRR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection

    2 (SHRR) - 1 (SHG)
    +45° (High)
    4.05 V
    0° (Normal)
    2.25 V
    -45° (Low)
    0.45 V

5.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY - HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
  1. Disconnect the A48 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the S3 rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

    A48-12 (SBR) - S3-3 (SHB)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    A48-19 (SHRL) - S3-2 (SHRR)
    Always

6.INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 (SHB) and a negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 1 (SHG).

  1. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHRR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

7.CHECK FOR DTC (INTELLIGENT PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM)

    DTC "C1628 Height Control Sensor Circuit Malfunction" is not output.

8.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Temporarily replace the parking assist ECU with a new or normally functioning one (Click here).

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B2416 is not output.

10.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING ASSIST ECU - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)
  1. Disconnect the A48 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the L152 parking assist ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
