FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY > INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

  1. Connect the airbag connector to the front passenger airbag assembly.

    NOTICE:
    When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  1. Push in the lock to install the airbag connector.

  1. Connect the No. 3 instrument panel wire to the front passenger airbag assembly clamp.

  1. Engage the clamp to install the No. 3 instrument panel wire to the front passenger airbag assembly.



2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  1. Engage the 3 hooks.

  1. Push the front passenger airbag assembly to engage the 3 hooks.

  1. Install the 2 screws to install the front passenger airbag assembly.

  1. Install the 2 clamps to the front passenger airbag assembly.



3. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY


  1. When using a new upper instrument panel sub-assembly:



    1. Immediately before installing the upper instrument panel assembly, twist and cut off the portions shown in the illustration.

  1. Engage the 5 claws as shown in the illustration.



  1. Engage the 2 claws and 4 clips, and install the upper instrument panel assembly as shown in the illustration.

  1. Install the 2 bolts <B>.



  1. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A>.

    Torque:
    20 N*m{ 204 kgf*cm , 15 ft.*lbf }

  1. Engage the 2 clamps.



  1. Connect each connector.

4. CONNECT NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

  1. Check that the power switch is off.

  1. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    CAUTION:
    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  1. Connect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.



5. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

6. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

  1. Perform a diagnostic system check (Click here).
