REAR AIRBAG SENSOR > REMOVAL

HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.



1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (Click here).

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Click here).



2. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD

  1. Disengage the 2 guides <A> as shown in the illustration.

  1. Disengage the 3 guides <B> and remove the rear No. 2 floor board.



3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX
  1. Remove the rear deck floor box.



4. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD

  1. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the rear No. 3 floor board.



5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).



6. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

  1. Disengage the 2 front hooks of the seat cushion from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    Follow the instructions below carefully as the cushion frame deforms easily.


    1. Choose a hook to detach first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then lift the seat cushion to detach the hook.

    2. Repeat the above procedure for the other hook.

  1. Disengage the 2 guides of the seat cushion from the seatback.

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly.



7. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  1. Disengage the 7 claws and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.



8. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

9. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the rear No. 1 floor board sub-assembly.



10. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

  1. Disengage the claw and 2 clips, and remove the rear No. 2 floor board sub-assembly.



11. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD (for RH Side)

  1. Remove the bolt.

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the rear No. 1 floor board.



12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR BOARD SPACER (for RH Side)

  1. Remove the 2 clips and rear floor board spacer.



13. REMOVE NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY INTAKE DUCT (for RH Side)

  1. Remove the 2 clips and No. 1 hybrid battery intake duct.



14. REMOVE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR
  1. Check that the power switch is off.

  1. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    CAUTION:
    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.




    1. Push and hold the white housing lock, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve.

    2. Push and hold the white housing lock again, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve to disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the nut and rear airbag sensor.

    NOTICE:
    Loosen the nut while holding the rear airbag sensor because the rear airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
